LTE7480-M804 multi-band outdoor LTE router that eliminates connection dead spots
Zyxel Networks has announced the launch of its new LTE7480-M804 advanced outdoor router. The device allows users to have a stable, high-speed connection in remote areas where other technologies would be prohibitively expensive.
The need to work from home, affecting a large number of employees worldwide, has led many companies to seek solutions to ensure their workers have the technology they need to be productive. A fast and reliable connection to the company network is key, although difficulties are sometimes experienced due to broadband dead zones.
The LTE7480-M804 provides broadband connections over the latest LTE mobile networks, making it easy to integrate the router into any existing infrastructure. It can be configured as the primary connection or act as a backup network if the primary broadband performance drops. This reduces the risk of network outages at a time when more and more businesses are relying on a remote workforce.
Features and benefits of the LTE7480-M804 LTE-A outdoor router:
• High-speed Internet connection: The LTE7480 employs Category 12 3GPP UE technology with data download speeds of up to 600 Mbps through four spatial streams in two carrier components.
• High-gain antennas: The LTE7480 features a built-in 4x4 MIMO high-gain wide-band antenna with up to 8 dBi of gain. Its outdoor design allows it to operate in near-line-of-sight conditions to increase coverage and bandwidth.
• Easy to install: The LTE7480 supports bridge and router functions for flexible installation. The 802.3af/at PoE option eliminates the need for a separate power supply, while the IP68 outdoor-rated design allows it to work in harsh environments. It's also compatible with the free 'Zyxel Ally' app, which helps you find the best signal location for your installation.
• Remote management: An intuitive mobile app and web interface enable remote management. You can configure settings, monitor network status and software updates, and manage the firewall.
• Seamless connectivity: Wireless LTE enables failover across multiple WANs without a cabling plan. When used with a gateway that supports multi-WAN failover, such as the Zyxel USG models, simply connect the LTE7480 to the existing gateway and configure it as the failover WAN.
“Improving the network in a home office environment is crucial for businesses to implement social distancing measures and help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. The new Zyxel 4G LTE-A outdoor router is a powerful and cost-effective solution that delivers high-speed broadband in remote areas over existing LTE mobile networks,” explains Gonzalo Echeverría, country manager of Zyxel Spain. “This new router can be easily integrated into any existing infrastructure and function as a primary or backup connection when the primary connection’s performance drops. Remote management capabilities make it easy for even less tech-savvy employees to access an exceptional connection with a strong, high-speed signal and long-range transmission.”.
