For this development, the three companies combined their strengths: Phoenix Contact, a manufacturer of WLAN, Bluetooth, and mobile radio routers for industrial applications; Quectel, a global supplier of mobile radio and GNSS modules; and Ericsson, a network provider and 5G technology development company. Working together from the outset, they were able to rapidly develop a solution that delivers industrial-grade performance over private 5G networks. As part of the collaboration between Quectel, Phoenix Contact, and Ericsson, extensive interoperability testing was conducted at Ericsson's laboratory to ensure the reliable industrial performance of the 5G router. The experience gained is invaluable for Ericsson in delivering 5G solutions for industry in partnership with mobile radio operators. Furthermore, the three companies collaborated closely to enable Industry 4.0 applications using this private, standalone 5G network.
