The company is thus responding to one of the sector's main challenges: the increasing pressure on execution times in construction and deployment projects for digital infrastructure. Although tools such as digital planning, advanced logistics, and AI-based project management have accelerated many processes, the physical installation of LAN networks continues to rely heavily on specialized manual tasks.

The new EL4.0 generation unifies RJ45 modules for Cat. 5e, Cat. 6, and Cat. 6A categories through a common form factor and interface design. This streamlining reduces the number of variants to two main part numbers, simplifying planning, procurement, and installation.

According to R&M, this simplification allows for:
Reduced compatibility errors between modules, panels, and outlets.
Minimized setup and installation times.
Reduced technical training requirements.
Optimized logistics management and product inventory.
Improved sustainability through recyclable packaging and formats adapted to different projects.
The new EL4.0 modules can be installed directly in all 19-inch panels and outlets of the R&Mfreenet system, regardless of the cabling category used.

One of the key technical features of the new generation is the Easy Lock (EL) philosophy, developed by R&M to simplify connector termination using IDC technology without special tools. Experienced installers can complete the assembly of a module in one or two minutes.

Key technical improvements include:
a two-component integrated design;
a patented guide for wire orientation and management;
automatic IDC termination upon module closure;
an integrated, manually operated strain relief system;
and 360° shielding contacts to ensure low impedance and compatibility with various cable types.
In unshielded Cat. 6A modules, R&M incorporates metallic fibers into the plastic housing to reduce Alien NEXT and maintain performance even in high-density installations.

The new platform also introduces improvements focused on network operation and maintenance. The modules incorporate integrated color coding according to category:
Green for Cat. 5e,
Blue for Cat. 6,
and Red for Cat. 6A.
In addition, the hinged dust covers allow for one-handed inspection of links and patch cord connections without disassembling components, reducing the risk of contamination and patching errors.

R&M positions the EL4.0 generation as a platform ready for the new connectivity demands of smart buildings, industrial automation, and multi-gigabit WiFi environments. The program covers everything from basic automation applications to high-performance infrastructures for advanced WiFi access points.
