smartNET
Rosenberger OSI has relaunched its LAN networking portfolio based on increasing requirements and presents three innovative solutions: The most flexible network solution is PreCONNECT® smartNET. This cabling system ensures a high degree of adaptability in the spatial design of workstations. Furthermore, it offers the ability to dynamically expand bandwidth and individually allocate data speeds within a building by department or process. In this way, the network solution can adapt to existing building, IT, and process structures and grow with the business.
Thanks to this intelligent design, the lengths of the tertiary copper cables can be reduced to a minimum (approximately 25 meters). This is made possible by the use of a passive fiber optic consolidation point in the secondary zone, bringing future-proof fiber optic technology closer to the end user.
Another potential cost-reduction solution is offered by so-called office distributors (ODs), which connect to the passive consolidation point in the tertiary area in a star or ring configuration and, as distributed systems, replace traditional centralized floor distributors. While large distribution units require a separate room, office distributors can be mounted on raised floors, ceilings, or walls and can be integrated into any work environment without requiring additional space.
isoNET
Regarding hardware, the isoNET solution is based on the pre-assembly of cables on one and two sides, as well as the planning and proactive installation of the network by Rosenberger OSI experts or qualified partners on site.
The solution focuses on future-proof fiber optic technology, offering virtually unlimited transmission capacity. However, it is only one component of PreCONNECT® isoNET. Copper technology still plays a significant role in building cabling. In addition to the time savings offered by pre-assembled data lines, the standard-compliant network solution offers the advantage of reduced administrative effort, as active components are centralized at floor distribution frames.
flexNET
The third network solution, an extension of PreCONNECT® isoNET, offers even greater versatility in the spatial design of workstations. This is achieved by inserting a passive copper consolidation point in the tertiary zone. The major advantage is that new end-user connections can be easily connected to the passive consolidation point, and existing workstations can be relocated. Expansions and restructurings can be carried out without interrupting ongoing operations. In this way, PreCONNECT® flexNET perfectly meets the requirements of increasingly dynamic work processes in office environments, manufacturing, and building management.
