In most enterprise networks and large environments, wireless connectivity is deployed using Wi-Fi access points, mounted on ceilings and walls, which connect to network switches. However, these switches typically have Gigabit ports, and this 1,000 Mbps bandwidth creates a bottleneck for the performance of Wi-Fi 6 and 7 access points, which are capable of delivering speeds of 2,400 Mbps and above (on the 5 GHz band). Connecting them to 1,000 Mbps Gigabit ports significantly reduces their performance. To avoid this, the new D-Link DMS-1250 series is an excellent solution, as all models feature eight 2.5G (2,500 Mbps) ports, complemented by various Power over Ethernet (PoE) options to deliver both data and power over the same Ethernet LAN cable.

Common features of the DMS-1250 family
: • 8 Multi-Gigabit 10/100/1000/2.5GBASE-T ports
• Power over Ethernet, 802.3af/at standards, up to 30W per port on the DMS-1250-10SP, DMS-1250-12TP, and DMS-1250-10SPL models. Up to 240W PoE budget.
• All models include two SFP+ ports for 10 Gigabit uplink connections to the upper network layer, either aggregation or core. The DMS-1250-12TP model also includes two 10G copper ports.
• Advanced Layer 2 features, including VLANs, Asymmetric VLAN, Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), Link Aggregation, etc.
• Static Layer 3 Routing
• Robust security with ACLs, D-Link SafeGuard Engine, Port Security, DHCP Server Screening, DHCP Snooping, etc.
• Unified management with D-Link WiFi access points and other manageable switches using the free Nuclias Connect software with a single sign-on web portal and multi-site capability.
• Management via console port, CLI, web interface, or SNMP (with D-Link D-View 8 NMS software).
• Limited lifetime warranty upon product registration.
• Smart fans in PoE models
. • 6kV surge protection, safeguarding the switch against potential overloads when connecting access points or outdoor IP cameras.

The DMS-1250 range of managed multigigabit switches is now available from official D-Link distributors.
