The managed switch offers several features for the secure and efficient organization of industrial Ethernet networks. The integrated firewall provides bidirectional protection against unauthorized access and reliably enhances security in IIoT environments. Its NAT routing function allows workstations to be represented by alternative addresses on higher-level networks. The device thus reliably prevents IP address duplication on the user's network. Port-based IP address assignment allows workstation addresses to be assigned via the switch's web browser.
One of the most outstanding features of the new TURCK TBEN-L switch is its ability to increase the availability of Ethernet lines through media redundancy (RSTP). By configuring virtual LANs (VLANs), users can separate production networks from management networks or allocate individual bandwidths to each VLAN, thereby protecting the network from overloads caused by data transmission flooding. Furthermore, the network load monitoring function on each port provides a continuous overview of bandwidth utilization across the network.
