“High-speed, reliable data transmission is no longer optional, and with today’s massive data volumes, industrial networks need to adapt to constantly changing bandwidth requirements,” says Vinod Rana, product manager at Belden. “We designed the new MSP40 switch with modularity in mind, making it easy to move from one module to another to achieve current and future data transmission speeds. Currently, speeds of 1 and 2.5 Gbps are needed, but we know that 10 Gbps speeds are just around the corner. Thanks to the flexibility of our device, no new hardware will be required to adapt.”.
The MSP40 switch offers a unique combination of features, all designed to help network engineers and systems integrators adapt to the ever-increasing bandwidth needs of large industrial networks.
“Thanks to its small size and robust form factor, the MSP40 is perfect for industrial applications with limited space, such as along railway lines or in underground mines. We offer a high-performance switch that can withstand extreme environments while reliably transmitting data at unprecedented speeds,” Rana adds.
With the launch of the MSP40 switch, a new module for applications requiring higher power, such as PTZ cameras, has also been introduced. The Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) module provides an additional 120 watts of power when needed. All MSP40 switch modules are hot-swappable on a live network, offering complete flexibility and reduced downtime during maintenance or upgrades.
