The COFITEL Group announces that OPTRAL's fiber optic cables are certified in accordance with European Directives 2002/95/EC and 2000/53/EC to meet the quality and sustainability requirements of the industry.
Regulation 2002/95/EC deals with restrictions on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, while Regulation 2000/53/EC addresses end-of-life vehicles.
In addition to lead (Pb), the substances referred to in both directives include mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr 6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and decabrominated diphenyl ethers (DecaBDEs).
