Designed for use in high-temperature resistant applications requiring high power density, lamps and lasers, the bundled assembly eliminates the epoxy resin, fluorescence and interstitial spaces common in multi-fiber bundles.
Polymicro Technologies' fiber optic bundles are available with virtually any number of fibers, including illumination and sensing fibers, in an assembly to optimize design flexibility and adaptability. These high-precision fiber assemblies provide excellent performance levels and input-output shape conversion. The boosted beam will function under a wide variety of conditions.
By incorporating high-precision, fused silica components, Polymicro Technologies' bundled assemblies can include optical, electrical, and mechanical features, such as micro-machined tips, metal terminations, and precision couplings. Optical fibers can be bundled at one end and opened into various configurations at the other. Micro-machining allows for custom end shapes to be formed directly on the optical fiber, eliminating adhesion and coupling losses. It is also possible to specify the termination style and technique, coating, and fiber type.
