The new VersaBeam EBO solutions incorporate Expanded Beam Optical (EBO) technology, which increases reliability and significantly reduces cleaning, inspection, and maintenance requirements. This innovation utilizes the 3M™ EBO ferrule, which expands the light beam between the connectors to minimize sensitivity to dust and debris, ensuring stable performance in high-density environments.
VersaBeam EBO connectors are available in 12, 16, and up to 144 fiber configurations per connector, in single-mode and multimode versions, within a Very Small Form Factor (VSFF) form factor that maximizes rack space utilization and simplifies cable routing.

The plug-and-play design enables quick and secure installation without the need for special tools or highly skilled personnel, streamlining the commissioning of large-scale optical infrastructures. Thanks to their high density and precise optical alignment, these connectors ensure stable and repeatable connections in intra-rack and inter-rack applications.
Field tests conducted with EBO connectors resulted in an 85% time savings compared to conventional MPO connectors, equivalent to more than six hours of reduced deployment time, as well as a substantial decrease in cleaning and maintenance tasks.
With the introduction of VersaBeam EBO, Molex reinforces its commitment to innovation in high-density optical connectivity solutions, aimed at optimizing performance, efficiency, and total cost of ownership (TCO) in next-generation infrastructures.
