The double oven features flexible, independent, and programmable clamps. Users select or link the clamps to be used according to their requirements. Individual oven clamps can be linked to the oven lids to move with them or independently. This allows both the oven and the clamps to be opened in a single action and the splicer to be operated with either the right or left hand.
The fiber clamping system allows working with clamps on primary and secondary sheath cables (tight, semi-tight and loose) or with FHS-025, FHS-09, FHS-025LB5 fiber holders.
Sumitomo incorporates its remote support and update system into the T-71C, allowing for updates to be downloaded via the internet. The touchscreen and top panel keys provide dual control of functions, making it the most versatile and user-friendly splicer on the global market.
Without internal mirrors, the new splicer requires less maintenance. It features user-replaceable lens protectors on the microscopes, making repairs cheaper, faster, and easier in case of damage.
The T-71C includes splice and battery level indicators, and a password setting for enhanced control and security, preventing unauthorized access. It also stores splice data and features a memory card reader for data, images, and video. Storage capacity depends on the memory card used, up to a maximum of 16GB.
The T-71C's carrying case is lightweight and durable. It includes a convenient work platform for storing accessories or tools, and is flat on top for placing the fusion splicer on a secure surface.
