A key new feature of the Q102-M12+ is the inclusion of Sumitomo Electric's patented NanoTune™ technology. NanoTune™ reduces the need to rework splices caused by insufficient fiber preparation, such as poor cutting, thus lowering overall costs.

A special coating on the V-grooves and lens reduces dirt and dust buildup, meaning less cleaning time. The coating also preserves image quality for superior splicing by acting as a scratch and fog-proofing shield.
Offering maximum versatility, the Q102-M12+ allows for tool-free replacement of the V-grooves to accommodate ribbons of different pitches. Now, a splicer can splice 200m and 250m ribbon fibers with the same machine, saving space and eliminating the need for multiple units. With splicing speeds of 11 seconds in fast mode and a 28-second warm-up time, the Q102-M12+ operates quickly yet efficiently, thanks to its enhanced Auto-Adjustment System (ACAS), which ensures better fiber alignment.

Sumitomo JR7-W cable stripper
Sumitomo Electric has also made significant advancements to its JR-7 thermal coating stripper to complete technicians' tape splicing toolkits. The design improvements provide light for visualizing the tape fiber in dark environments and vibration to alert the user when the process is complete.
