Illuminated by three LEDs for clear fiber visualization during operation, the View 7 also features an illuminated keypad for selecting 35 splicing modes.
It performs fusion in 7 (quick mode) or 8 seconds (auto mode) with a 13-second warm-up time, offering faster and more precise operation than more expensive models.
The new fusion splicer also boasts a 9,800 mAh battery (enough for 355 splices), an electrode with a lifespan of 3,500 arcs, USB 2.0, mini USB, and HDMI ports, universal cable support (250 µm, 900 µm, and 3 mm), storage capacity for up to 2,000 results, and a three-year warranty.
The View 7, which measures 133 x 155 x 160 mm and weighs 2.80 kilograms (with battery), can work with a large number of single-mode (G.652/657), multi-mode (G.651), DS (G.653) and NZDS (G.655) cables and fibers with a return loss below 60 dB.
View 7 core alignment fusion splicer with 520x magnification system
The COFITEL Group presents the INNO View 7 fiber optic fusion splicer, a core alignment model with 520x magnification. This compact and robust unit, which can be used in harsh environments, features an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) with a 5" high-resolution color LCD touchscreen

AFL launches the new Fujikura 12S fusion splicer.
AFL introduces the new Fujikura 12S fusion splicer, the world's smallest, lightest, and most portable. Measuring just 12.09cm wide x 16.20cm deep x 5.69cm high, the feature-rich 12S splicer is designed to increase field efficiency. -
Power arc calibration for fusion of optical fibers with various diameters (and Part 2)
This article describes a new arc calibration method for a wide range of fiber sizes. This method heats the fiber with multiple short arcs of varying arc power. The melting point is then measured at the corner of the fiber ends instead of along the fiber axis.
