The three new models feature increased single-mode dynamic range and improved dead zones.
- Single-mode OTDR with dual-wavelength measurement: 40/38 dB dynamic range (1310/1550 nm).
- Single-mode OTDR with triple-wavelength measurement: 40/38/38 dB dynamic range (1310/1550/1625 nm).
- OTDR with quad-wavelength measurement: 39/37 dB dynamic range in the single-mode model and 24/24 dB in the multimode model (850/1300 nm).
The single-mode M700 models are suitable for measuring optical fibers in metropolitan, FTTx, and long-distance networks. The extended-range model with quad-wavelength measurement is ideal for Department of Transportation (DOT), campus, and military base networks, which typically have single-mode and multimode fibers within the campus and long-distance point-to-point fibers.
All M700 OTDR models come with an integrated Visual Fault Locator (VFL) and Optical Power Meter (OPM). This compact OTDR features a large, transflective touchscreen, ideal for use indoors or outdoors, and includes Auto, Expert (Manual and Auto once), and Real-Time measurement modes. It also offers precise event analysis, multi-wavelength measurements, advanced file naming, and an easy-to-use job setup function. The file naming and multi-measurement (OPM and OTDR) capabilities of the M700 models, combined with the analysis and reporting functions of the included PC software, make this product quick and easy to use, from setup to report generation.
Thousands of OTDR and OPM measurement results can be stored in the internal memory or on the included USB drive and transferred to a computer. The included Windows®-compatible software allows you to view, print, and analyze the results. The OPM displays up to three wavelengths simultaneously. The OPM's stored loss values, obtained for a cable in one or two directions, can be displayed in a table on the M700 for evaluation and comparison.
Elfcam ELF-5800: the new 4-in-1 portable OTDR for FTTH networks
Elfcam launches its ELF-5800 fiber optic tester. This compact and robust device integrates the functions of an OTDR, VFL, optical power meter (OPM), and optical light source (OLS) into a single portable unit, designed for the installation and maintenance of FTTH/FTTx networks.
