It is classified as a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and provides PoE power to up to four power devices (PDs).
The GPoE+/SX supports various data traffic distribution networks, including directed switching mode, which prevents network congestion, and multiplexer mode, which isolates secure data streams for different cameras in multi-user surveillance applications. Models with two fiber ports support dual-mode operation, allowing the GPoE+/SX to function as two independent PoE media converters. The two fiber ports also facilitate daisy-chain topologies and redundant fiber links with less than 50ms latency. Other features include link failure detection and remote PD reset, eliminating the need to send personnel to remote locations to reset cameras and wireless access points.
The OmniConverter GPoE+/SX models are available with SC, ST, and LC fiber connectors, or with SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceivers in 100Mbps or Gigabit data rates, in multimode, single-mode, and a variety of wavelengths in CWDM and DWDM. Models are available for commercial applications or extended temperature ranges from -40°C to 75°C for outdoor and industrial applications.
