Citynet is awaiting the necessary licenses to begin the second phase of the project, which will involve expanding several fiber optic lines. This will bring Castellón's total fiber optic network to 22 km. Cities such as Zaragoza, Santander, Badajoz, Alicante, Madrid, Seville, Córdoba, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Palma de Mallorca already have fiber optic deployments using the same technology. These new lines are expected to be deployed before the end of the year.
This fiber optic infrastructure will bring qualitative and quantitative advantages to businesses, public administrations and citizens, as they will see their services increased with new services that are increasingly in demand, such as high-speed internet, digital television or voice over IP channels, remote home automation applications, personalized assistance, telemedicine, teleworking, security or entertainment programs.
