Conducted earlier this year using the Coriant Groove™ G30 Network Disaggregation Platform, the trial has proven the ability to deploy, in a highly cost-effective manner, an optical infrastructure using best-in-class disaggregated optical transmission and open network capabilities.

Groove’s compact rack unit design, energy efficiency, and ease of use were particularly valuable in successfully achieving the trial objectives.”
 
The alien wavelength test took place on three live links of Telefónica's 10G DWDM transmission network, spanning distances of 1,070 km, 630 km, and 290 km, and connecting critical network points, including Düsseldorf and Frankfurt. While interoperating with Telefónica's existing 10G Optical Line System (OLS), Coriant's Groove solution successfully tested unbundled 100G transport on all three links, 150G on the 630 km and 290 km links, and 200G on the 290 km link.
 
In mid-2017, Telefónica Germany and Coriant will conduct further additional third-party bandwidth tests, using the Coriant Groove™ G30 unbundled muxponder solution on Telefónica's 100G national backbone network.
