This network was launched 25 years ago and has continuously incorporated the state of the art in various cybersecurity and privacy technologies, allowing customers and users complete confidentiality and compliance with all current data protection laws, and is safe from potential cyberattacks.

The e-health Network can integrate terrestrial, cellular and satellite communications, allowing the systems to be used regardless of the geographical location, from a large city to the most remote area imaginable.

Encrypted Information
All medical and patient data information travels through this network encrypted, end-to-end, so that it can only be decrypted by those service actors who need access to it: doctors, patients, medical centers, etc.

To achieve this, the e-health Network incorporates various security technologies and protocols. It offers physical security by hosting all its central equipment at INTERXION. Additionally, the e-health Network's communications to this central node are redundant.

Logical security, on the other hand, is based on Virtual Private Networks (VLANs). In the e-health Network, all communications with devices deployed in any location are separated from the rest of the traffic using dedicated VLANs. VLANs play a critical role in system security, contributing to network segmentation and traffic separation.

Additionally, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are established on these VLANs, isolated from client devices and connected to the central network node via secure VPN connections. All VPNs used for communication between the different centers and the e-health Network use the IP Security protocol (IPSec) or OpenVPN tunneling, implementing AES (256-bit) encryption and ensuring packet integrity using SHA-1.

All this protection is complemented by the use of firewalls, which form an important line of defense in the e-health Network through Access Control Lists, precisely defining the type of traffic allowed both incoming and outgoing. Furthermore, the e-health Network implements a mechanism for using strong authentication passwords that are changed periodically and securely.
