Unlike other SD-WAN solutions, Ipanema SD-WAN in THW mode can provide all the advantages of SD-WAN technology, but without having to change the switching or routing hardware and with perfect compatibility with the main customer premises equipment (CPE) providers.
Transparent hybrid WANs, based on Infovista's technology that allows SD-WAN traffic to be routed through internet connections "invisible" to currently deployed routers, help enterprise customers benefit from the advantages of SD-WAN networks without the risks inherent in migration projects that last several months.
In addition to new transparent hybrid WAN capabilities, the latest version of the Ipanema SD-WAN solution (20.03) features a Zone-Based Firewall (ZBF) that allows for network segmentation and can be combined with other secure web gateway services for enhanced protection. It also includes improved reporting capabilities, encompassing over a year of historical data and an expanded suite of custom and predefined reports. Finally, it simplifies the pricing model and licensing structure.
According to Cliff Grossner, research director responsible for data center and networking, cloud services, and software-defined networking at Omdia: “SD-WAN adoption is growing rapidly, and it’s clear the market needs a WAN solution that is easy to deploy to help customers move at their own pace with minimal business disruption.” As the technology begins to reach a more general public, there is still room to adopt a more methodological approach that allows the transition to SD-WAN networks through a hybrid model capable of responding and adapting to changes in network and business conditions, while application users enjoy the best possible experience.
Ipanema SD-WAN is also one of only three vendors to have achieved MEF 3.0 certification across all its SD-WAN services, reinforcing its commitment to open network solutions. In March, Infovista also announced that it had deployed its Ipanema SD-WAN product in more than 100,000 sites.
The latest version of Ipanema SD-WAN, available to the general public since the end of March, also offers all current Ipanema customers a variety of easy, software-based migration options.
