The alliance involves technical collaboration and interoperability testing across Ericsson's portfolio of network function virtualization, billing and charges solutions, automation, and orchestration solutions with VMware's vCloud NFV platform. This will provide service providers with faster, more cost-effective, and proven virtualized solutions. These solutions are becoming increasingly critical as service providers adopt multicloud strategies to optimize costs and resources.
To enable service providers (SPs) to deploy and efficiently manage virtualized business networks, the two major companies that have signed the agreement commit to technical collaboration, for example, in the areas of Cloud Core and Cloud Communication, to jointly ensure optimal platform performance and utilization for large workloads. They have also invested in a Certification Lab, where the interoperability between Ericsson's virtualized network function solutions and VMware's vCloud NFV platform will be tested, certified, verified, optimized, and documented.
