Following the acquisition of PrimaCom in July, Tele Columbus further strengthens its position as one of the leading German cable players and a key consolidation platform in the German cable market, already serving approximately 3.7 million connected households.
Pepcom is the fourth largest cable operator in Germany, offering cable television, high-speed internet, and telephone services to over 580,000 subscribers out of approximately 810,000 connected households. The company has nationwide operations with a strong presence in economically attractive cities such as Munich, Nuremberg, Leipzig, and Frankfurt am Main. In 2014, Pepcom generated total revenues of €126 million and normalized EBITDA of €57 million (45% margin). The company holds a 70% controlling stake in the Bavarian cable television and broadband company KMS, with Vodafone Kabel Deutschland holding the remaining 30%. In 2012, it acquired Pepcom Komm NS, a Leipzig-based provider of telecommunications services for business customers. Pepcom currently employs approximately 370 people and is headquartered in Unterfoehring, near Munich.
The combination will bring together approximately 3.7 million connected households on a single platform, with complementary geographic expansion to key Pepcom locations in Munich, Nuremberg, Leipzig, and Frankfurt am Main. Tele Columbus and Pepcom have 57% and 58% of connected households, respectively, that are up-to-date and supplied with their own signals via separate two-way networks.
