This new partnership between the two companies will facilitate cost savings in the purchase of technological equipment through joint procurement processes and will also allow MegaFon and Telefónica to exchange technological know-how. According to the agreement, Telefónica will provide services to its multinational clients using MegaFon's networks, and similarly, MegaFon's corporate clients will have access to services when they are outside their home country.
Furthermore, in the future, MegaFon and Telefónica, through their respective specialized subsidiaries and with a focus on the rapid development, launch, and monetization of digital products, will also be able to promote the development of new businesses (such as OTT, cloud, and M2M), thus creating new growth opportunities for both companies.
The agreement between the two operators will expand Telefónica's Partners Program and increase its membership beyond its strategic and industrial alliances with China Unicom and Telecom Italia. Currently, Telefónica and its partners serve 1.5 billion customers in 52 countries worldwide.
