The integration combines direct content playback on the screen with remote monitoring and control via the REST API built into Sony devices. Sony's Device Provisioning Tool simplifies initial setup. In installations that can do without an external media player, this reduces hardware costs and the number of components that need to be installed and maintained.
“When deploying a digital signage network across multiple locations, each additional device and each extra setup step adds complexity,” explains Mónica Fernández, Managing Director of nsign. “Sony's certification offers our partners a simpler way to deploy and remotely manage displays. It also gives customers greater flexibility as they expand their networks, keeping content and daily operations on a single, familiar platform.”

To expedite deployment, installers apply a predefined provisioning profile using Sony's Device Provisioning Tool. This profile installs nsign as the display's default application and applies the necessary settings for remote monitoring and control. Once activated and linked to the nsign platform, the display automatically launches the application upon power-up. This reduces repetitive manual tasks and allows integrators to apply a consistent configuration across multiple displays and locations.

Through Sony's local REST API, the nsign application can control compatible displays, including turning them on and off, restarting them, and changing their orientation. Content, playlists, and schedules are managed centrally from within nsign, bringing content playback and display control together in a single operating environment.

The collaboration also expands the hardware options available to nsign customers. Compatible BRAVIA professional displays can be managed alongside other devices, including Android PCs and BrightSign players. A retail or restaurant chain, for example, can roll out Sony displays in new locations or a pilot project while maintaining the compatible hardware already installed throughout its network. Marketing and operations teams continue to use a single platform to manage content across the network, without needing a different workflow for each hardware manufacturer.
Distributors, integrators, and end users can contact nsign to learn about compatible BRAVIA professional display models, firmware requirements, and various deployment options.
