According to current regulations, when several companies belong to the same corporate group, the status of main operator falls to the entity with the largest market share within that group. In the list published a few months ago, Vodafone held the third position and Wewi the fifth. Now, with Wewi's market share integrated into Vodafone, the CNMC (National Markets and Competition Commission) has determined that only Vodafone should be listed as the main operator, as it holds the largest share of lines within the group.
As a result of this integration, and taking into account the data corresponding to the 2024 financial year, Aire Networks del Mediterráneo, SLU replaces Wewi in the list and moves into fifth position among the main mobile phone operators in Spain.
