GTD Spain has begun deploying two submarine fiber optic cables that will connect Tarifa with Benitez Beach, and La Línea with Ribera Beach. The system has a ring topology that will be completed in Ceuta, complemented by a 12-km terrestrial network.

The two cables together total 105 km and have a transmission capacity of 19.2 Tbps per deployed fiber pair. With the planned cable having 24 fiber pairs, the system will offer a transmission capacity of 460.8 Tbps.
