Media professionals attending the IBC show will be able to witness Advantech's latest video processing platforms for:
accelerated video cloud
will showcase high-density, efficient live hardware transcoding solutions for the data center. This includes the unparalleled performance of the VEGA-3318 transcoding cards, each capable of up to 8 x 4Kp60 live or 32 x 1080p60 transcoded AVC or HEVC codes. The boards are also available in deployment-grade servers capable of transcoding up to 32 UHD/4K services or 128 1080p60 services for OTT delivery.
Advantech is also introducing the VEGA-4000 family of reconfigurable FPGA encoding accelerators, which, in collaboration with encoder developers such as partner NGCodec, provide solutions for those interested in hardware-assisted VP9 and even AV1 transcoding.
UHD/8K Live Streaming & Broadcasting:
Building on proven UHD/4K technology, Advantech will expand its partnership with Socionext and introduce a new partner, Spin Digital, to address 8K live HEVC encoding, streaming, and decoding for highly immersive experiences across a wide range of use cases, including OTT live broadcasting, 360 VR, and medical applications. Initially built around the world’s first single-board HEKC encoder, the VEGA-3304, the product line will expand to include additional direct video capture modes, integrated system options with the new short-depth 1U VEGA-7010 video server, and a new compact all-in-one device, the VEGA-6304. At the booth, Advantech will showcase the benefits of an immersive 8K experience both on-screen and in virtual reality using Spin Digital’s new 8K decoder technology and a high-resolution headset from Acer.

machine learning have become increasingly important as user-generated content becomes more prevalent, and deep neural networks (DNNs) are being deployed to manage the classification and compliance workload. Built on the same Xilinx Virtex Ultrascale + VU9P technology used by most cloud service providers, the VEGA-4000 family of PCI Express boards enables the efficient deployment of optimized DNNs across a wide range of target environments, including devices and private/hybrid clouds. Its low power consumption makes it ideal for edge computing and 5G applications. The product line includes the VEGA-4000, a low-profile PCIe card for scalable servers with a single installed VU9P, and the VEGA-4001, which accommodates two VU9P devices in a professional GPU form factor for more powerful machine learning tasks or flexible video decoding and content analysis combinations. The boards support the recently announced new xilinx xDNN architecture optimized for AI inference and can accelerate standard deep learning networking models such as Caffe, Mxnet, and TensorFlow.
UHD Contribution and Live Streaming Anywhere.
Also on display will be Advantech’s range of low-power contribution-grade UHD/4K encoding cards and compact systems, which support live AVC and HEVC encoding with 10-bit pixel depth and 4:2:2 chromatic subsampling. These find use in a wide range of OEM applications, from professional systems for live event streaming to medical compression and recording applications.
