The Sigfox solution is based on LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) connectivity and is present in 36 countries with national coverage in 17 of them, reaching a population of 660 million people in a geographical area of 2.6 million km²2Enabling billions of devices to communicate is not just a matter of deploying base stations across the country; it also requires the correct installation of the components within the communicating devices. For this reason, the company mandates that all devices communicating on its network be Sigfox certified to ensure that the Sigfox connectivity integrated into partner equipment delivers sufficient performance and allows the network to maintain high-quality service by ensuring that each device meets Sigfox radio requirements (conducted and radiated).

The Sigfox certification program allows partners to integrate Sigfox connectivity into their products by providing a library with a protocol implementation. It also enables the evaluation of overall radiated performance parameters and quality of service.

The Emitech Group is the only French laboratory authorized to perform the Sigfox Ready™ certification process. This process essentially involves taking measurements to evaluate the radiation parameters of the final product. The results of these tests are used to classify each uplink device and indicate the efficiency of the radiated power emitted by the equipment.

It is also worth noting that Emitech offers all the procedures required for CE marking, a prerequisite for selling any product in Europe. Among the services offered are also the assessment of requirements in non-EU countries where a product will be sold, and the customization of tests for a specific type of certification.
