These offerings include state-of-the-art, highly efficient cable assembly, comprehensive design services for complete, proven systems, and electronic manufacturing services encompassing assembly, soldering, and repair/adaptation.
With the acquisition of a company specializing in assembly and soldering technology, the available assembly capacity is 30,000 SMD components per hour. Thanks to state-of-the-art soldering machines, SMD, THR, and THT components can be soldered reliably and quickly. ERNI Electronics also offers complete subsystems and racks, along with all necessary testing.
In the area of design services, the company develops, for example, custom-made and miniaturized backplanes and special systems, including standard backplanes for a wide variety of bus systems. Other design examples include flexible and rigid-flex circuit boards as a wiring solution for the MicroSpeed connector, and subminiature Ethernet transformers as M8 and M12 extensions. The company will further develop this area in the future with its own designs.
In line with customer requirements, ERNI Electronics has especially expanded its offering related to cable assembly as well as in the area of adaptation and repair.
With fully automatic and semi-automatic systems for flat cables and a single-wire stripper/crimper, high-tech equipment is available for cable assembly. Round and single-wire cable assembly using soldering and crimping technology completes the product range. Services offered range from supplier management to cable production (IDC, crimping, soldering, etc.), including printing and testing. A high level of quality, as required by the automotive industry, for example, is guaranteed through in-production testing, such as micrographs for production approval, pull-out force tests, visual inspections after each operation, calibration, pair verification, and more.
In addition to assembled SMCs (two rows, 1.27 mm pitch) and MaxBridge connectors (one row, 2.54 mm pitch), ERNI Electronics offers all MiniBridge cable connectors (one row, 1.27 mm pitch) with all available contact counts, fully assembled. To facilitate rapid delivery, the cables are stocked in PVC, high-temperature (TPE-ET), and halogen-free versions, along with the corresponding MiniBridge connector components. Pre-assembled cable solutions are also available for the new MicroCon family with a 0.8 mm pitch.
The trend towards SMT continues. At the same time, circuit boards are incorporating an increasing number of fine-pitch components, with pitches of 1.0 mm and smaller, not to mention the advanced miniature components in SMT. The necessary retrofitting/repair tasks demand the reliable handling of individual SMD components, such as selective soldering and desoldering, as well as precise positioning. ERNI Electronics Solutions (ERNI ES) offers a comprehensive SMD retrofitting service. An efficient retrofitting station for selective soldering and desoldering has been installed. Thanks to its special vision system, the exact alignment of SMD and fine-pitch components is guaranteed.
