The chosen solution was Schneider Electric's StruxureWare for Data Centers, integrating it with existing systems, achieving energy savings of between 12-15% and occasionally up to 20% in their data centers.

Needs and Solution:
Comprehensive data center management and real-time monitoring of energy consumption and distribution were two of the main needs of the EJIE initiative, with the goal of obtaining measurements focused on process optimization and energy savings.
Schneider Electric's DCIM StruxureWare for Data Centers includes modules for monitoring, data center management, capacity, change management, and energy efficiency. Thanks to the latter, for example, a complete analysis of current and historical energy efficiency can be obtained, efficiency losses can be identified, and PUE/DCiE (Data Center Infrastructure Efficiency) values can be easily calculated at the subsystem level. It provides a complete analysis of energy costs at the subsystem level, as well as its carbon footprint for an instant measurement of environmental impact.

Project Benefits:
From an energy perspective, DCIM offers significant benefits by reducing consumption without compromising availability. Estimated consumption reductions range from 12% to 15%, and in some cases up to 20%, achieved through real-time data center control. The system
also significantly improves processes and monitoring, providing real-time visibility into the data center's status, the impact of each event, and improved response times, as well as enabling earlier detection of potential incidents.
Comprehensive data center management has also benefited from the new system, allowing EJIE to align infrastructure management with IT service management based on ITIL processes. Furthermore, it integrates the information and knowledge available in DCIM with other systems to provide a holistic view.
"The EJIE team, including myself, is very excited about the possibilities offered by the DCIM solution for the continuous improvement of our data center management," said Alex Etxeberria Aranburu, CEO of EJIE. “We are aware of our social responsibility as a driving force and example in sustainability. Technology has a key role to play in achieving a more sustainable society.”
