CTTL, one of China's largest certification laboratories in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, is governed by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT)CTTL, a scientific research institute directly under the supervision of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), selected Keysight’s 5G network and channel emulation solutions to establish its first 5G conformance testing platform for certifying 5G mmWave devices. As a result, CTTL has access to Keysight’s FR1 and FR2 5G testing solutions to address China’s 5G market, which is projected to support more than 460 million 5G connections by 2025, according to the GSM Association.
Keysight's 5G on-air testing capabilities include the company's Compact Antenna Testing Range (CATR) camera, which integrates seamlessly with Keysight's network and channel emulation solutions. This creates an end-to-end 5G solution that supports testing on any form factor and in any frequency band specified by 3GPP. CTTL leverages Keysight's 5G testing solutions to act as a connected mobile ecosystem that verifies the performance of 5G devices before their market launch. These 5G devices will be used by consumers in China's 5G market, which is expected to grow from approximately 560 billion yuan in 2020 to nearly 4.35 trillion yuan in 2030, according to Statista.
China is expected to account for more than half of all 5G users by 2022. In the past year, China’s three largest operators launched commercial 5G services, creating the world’s largest 5G market, with over 130,000 5G base stations already deployed. Leading Chinese mobile device manufacturers, including Xiaomi, OnePlus, and OPPO, have selected Keysight’s extensive portfolio of 5G solutions to accelerate the development, validation, and carrier acceptance of their devices.

“We are delighted to expand our collaboration with CTTL as it demonstrates our ability to address a market that envisions creating a connected, informed, and secure society,” said Peng Cao, Senior Director of Keysight’s Business Communications Group.
CTTL also utilizes Keysight’s 5G testing solutions to meet GCF and PTCRB certification requirements. Keysight offers the largest number of GCF-validated 5G NR conformance test cases for radio frequency (RF) device and protocol validation, thanks to its increased contributions to 3GPP, the global mobile communications standards organization.
In January 2020, Keysight announced that it had collaborated with CAICT to accelerate a 5G NR base station performance testing plan recommended by the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotional Group, the leading platform that brings together China’s major operators, vendors, universities, and research institutes to promote 5G.
