The IEC 62443-4-1 certificate confirms that Moxa has implemented a secure-by-design methodology from the very beginning of the product development process, encompassing comprehensive development lifecycle management and patch management. This certificate also demonstrates Moxa's ability to identify and respond to vulnerabilities and work with its customers to mitigate their risks.

According to IDC's 2020 global survey on IT/OT convergence, the primary motivations for IT/OT convergence are to enhance security and operational performance while simultaneously reducing costs and improving quality. Another key finding of the report is that, globally, 48.8% of IT and OT management owners consider security to be the primary obstacle to IT/OT convergence. This underscores the importance that OT organizations place on security when adopting Industry 4.0 or the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to significantly increase operational efficiency and productivity.

Before obtaining IEC 62443-4-1 certification in May 2020, Moxa had followed the development of the standard for five years and designed its products according to its guidelines.
