Fluke Networks' product strategy focuses on returning control of the performance of the entire IT landscape to organizations, regardless of whether services are run on-premises or in the cloud, with a range of powerful and easy-to-use tools.
“IT departments have traditionally focused on technology, service delivery, and stability, while business line leaders prefer to adopt solutions that enable a rapid competitive advantage and the acquisition of more customers. These differing perspectives can sometimes create tension between IT and business leaders, even though everyone agrees that a poor user experience comes at a cost, whether it’s lost customer relationships, reduced revenue, or decreased employee productivity,” explained Arif Kareem, president of Fluke Networks. “Traditional IT has reached a tipping point where the balance between technology and business outcomes is critical. With business units increasingly influencing the selection and deployment of cloud services across the enterprise, IT leaders must not only act as business partners but also ensure the quality of service for all applications. By taking responsibility for improving the user experience, IT can demonstrate a critical business advantage.”.
Point-solution tools don't work in the borderless enterprise.
Many IT departments rely on multiple point-solution tools to monitor and troubleshoot application and network performance; however, they lack the holistic view needed to measure end-user experience—a performance metric that both business and IT leaders can understand and embrace. By monitoring the actual response time experienced by end users, IT can align its goals with those of the business, thus demonstrating its value.
The lack of a holistic view also inhibits IT's ability to identify and resolve problems, and sometimes it takes days or weeks to pinpoint the root cause of an issue. The analyst firm Forrester recently reported that 31% of corporate network performance problems take more than a month to resolve.
The performance of a degraded network poses a significant risk, according to recent research conducted by Enterprise Management Associates. The survey results indicate that most companies have experienced poor application performance at least occasionally. The consequences of poor application performance cited by survey respondents included lost revenue (67%), reduced user productivity (77%), and a negative customer experience (79%).
The report also highlights how IT professionals struggle to address cloud application performance issues.
• 29% of respondents said they had poor visibility into network performance.
• 21% reported poor visibility into application performance.
• 41% reported difficulty resolving performance issues once they were aware of the problems.
The borderless business strategy helps IT leaders demonstrate business value.
