where manufacturers manage a wider range of recipes, greater resource constraints, and increasing demands for sustainability and traceability.
“Manufacturers in Spain operate in environments where production flexibility, data visibility, and efficient resource use are increasingly essential,” says José Paredes, General Manager of Rockwell Automation in Spain. “Collaborating with companies like Liquats Vegetals reflects how industrial organizations are using digital transformation to gain a better understanding of their operations and support more informed decision-making on a daily basis.”
As demand for plant-based beverages continues to grow, Liquats Vegetals faces greater flexibility requirements on its production lines, frequent product changes, and tighter control of resource consumption. The company has made progress in the digital transformation of its plants to improve operational visibility and better understand the use of energy and auxiliary services throughout the production processes, including the interaction between production performance and resource consumption in processing and packaging operations.

Several Rockwell technologies are supporting Liquats Vegetals' efforts to increase process consistency, operational visibility, and energy transparency at its production facilities. These include:
• The PlantPAx® Distributed Control System (DCS), which enables more flexible process control for multiple recipes and frequent product changes, helping to maintain consistent beverage quality.
• The FactoryTalk® Energy Manager application, which provides real-time visibility into plant-level energy and utility consumption, enabling operational teams to understand usage patterns, detect anomalies, and make more informed decisions regarding energy efficiency and responsible resource management.
• The DataOps DataMosaix™ industrial solution, which consolidates production, energy, and sustainability data into a unified view, allowing Liquats to analyze performance more effectively, improve traceability, identify opportunities for improvement, and support daily decision-making in manufacturing operations.
By combining real-time operational and energy data, the digitization project supports Liquats Vegetals' comprehensive approach to sustainability, helping to translate energy transparency into actionable insights that guide daily operational decisions and ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact while maintaining product integrity.
“As our production environment becomes more complex, having reliable, centralized operational data is critical,” said Tasio Corachán Masriera, Director of Process and Continuous Improvement at Liquats Vegetals. “The digital transformation of key areas of the plant helps us better understand process variability, energy consumption, and operating costs, enabling us to make more informed decisions and drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing operations.”

Liquats Vegetals operates production facilities in Catalonia and supplies its products to a broad customer base, including major retail chains in Spain, HORECA channel operators, and international distribution partners. The company's manufacturing activities encompass multiple product categories and recipes, requiring adaptable production systems and rigorous control over quality and resource utilization.
