Following the launch of inferX, Submer's neocloud business, at the end of 2025, Rubix is ideally positioned to develop AI data center campuses for clients operating at hyperscale, from prospecting and acquiring land and integrating into the local environment to commissioning and ongoing operational management.

Leading Rubix's global expansion is CEO John Eland, a data center industry veteran with over 25 years of experience in the sector, telecommunications, and infrastructure investment. Most recently, he served as CEO of STACK Infrastructure EMEA, where he drove the company's strategic growth across the region. Previously, he was Global Chief Strategy Officer at NTT Global Data Centers, where he oversaw the international expansion and market development of one of the world's largest data center platforms.

Alison Gutman has joined Eland's leadership team as Senior Vice President, responsible for the business's global operations to sustain scalable, high-performance growth. Gutman brings over a decade of experience in the data center industry, with a focus on operational leadership, integration, and business transformation. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Business Management at STACK Infrastructure EMEA.

“Submer’s reputation for sustainable cooling in high-density computing environments, along with inferX, its neocloud business, allows it to maintain close relationships with both GPU manufacturers and the large operators that consume them as a service. This enables Rubix to anticipate AI workload needs,” Eland noted. “I’m very excited about the launch of Rubix and the growth of our global business so our customers can scale their AI and cloud deployments with speed, efficiency, consistency, and sustainability.”.

“AI infrastructure demands a radically different approach to data center development and delivery. I’m delighted to welcome John and Alison, whose industry experience gives us every confidence to meet this challenge,” adds Patrick Smets, CEO of Submer Group. “As Submer moves toward consolidation as a full-stack AI infrastructure group—encompassing ground and power, manufacturing, thermal and product architecture, AI intelligence, and core and edge computing—and now also developing and operating data centers with Rubix, we are building a future-proof foundation designed for performance, efficiency, and global scale.”.

Zachary Webb, Head of Investments in EMEA for M&G Catalyst, notes that "M&G Catalyst funds focus on supporting purpose-driven technology companies leading the transition to a sustainable economy. By expanding our full-stack AI infrastructure capabilities with the Submer group of companies, our capacity in Rubix represents real potential to develop and operate energy-efficient AI data centers and broaden the appeal of this asset class for long-term investors."
