The selection of CellMining's Behavior-Based SON solution followed a rigorous evaluation process conducted on M:tel's mobile network. During the trial, the SON solution was challenged to replace the intensive manual tasks previously performed by M:tel's radio engineering teams. The results achieved using CellMining's subscriber-based usage pattern analysis system demonstrated significant improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs), enabling the operator to maximize network performance, reduce network operating costs, and provide an overall enhanced subscriber experience.
“Mobile communications is a highly competitive business, and operators like us are constantly striving to maintain subscriber loyalty by offering the best possible user experience,” says Miodrag Vojinovic, Chief Technology Officer at M:tel. “After a rigorous selection process, we chose CellMining’s SON solution because it can achieve this for us in the most efficient way.”.
“Winning the contract with M:tel is proof of the effectiveness of our unique subscriber-based network optimization methodology,” said Greg Snipper, CEO of CellMining. “Our solution not only provides optimization that is meticulously tailored to the needs of their subscribers, but also offers rapid integration and implementation so that the operator can start reaping the benefits as quickly as possible.”.
The solution was deployed on M:tel's Huawei and Nokia 2G and 3G networks. It is also compatible with 4G LTE when its rollout begins. CellMining's SON solution is now available to provide real-time Automatic Neighbor Definition (ANR) for all vendors and technologies; mobility load balancing; resolution of GSM frequency duplication and UMTS code conflicts; and LAC optimization to improve network availability
subscribers and reduce network overhead costs.
