TCL Communication, with a multi-brand portfolio that includes products from TCL, Alcatel, and BlackBerry, has selected Keysight to accelerate the development and testing of 5G network emulation (NR) devices, including 5G smartphones, 5G USB data terminals, 5G+8K QLED TVs, and 5G customer premises equipment (CPEs). Keysight's 5G network emulation solutions enable TCL Communication to validate radio frequency (RF) performance, in accordance with 3GPP NR 5G standards, for global market launches.
“As one of the world’s leading providers of 5G solutions with widespread industry adoption, Keysight has been a valuable partner for our 5G development and validation plans,” said Charles Zou, Vice President of TCL Communication’s Global R&D Center. “Their contributions to 5G NR standards influenced our decision to select Keysight, supporting the accelerated commercialization of 5G technology worldwide.”
TCL Communication leverages the same Keysight testing tools and test cases used by leading chip manufacturers – including MediaTek – to accelerate the validation of RF performance for new 5G NR devices and achieve consistent results. Earlier this year, MediaTek used Keysight's 5G network emulation solutions along with its Helio M70 integrated baseband modem to successfully establish 5G NR data calls, achieving the maximum theoretical speed for the 100MHz NR bandwidth, in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes.
Keysight and TCL Communication are active members of the 5G Device Forerunner Initiative project, a joint initiative of China's leading mobile industry players. This initiative aims to accelerate the development and maturation of the 5G device industry by organizing large-scale 5G trials with cross-sector participants.
“TCL Communication’s selection of Keysight underscores the importance of collaboration with solution providers across a connected mobile ecosystem of wireless device manufacturers, chip vendors, and mobile operators,” said Kailash Narayanan, Vice President and General Manager of Keysight’s Wireless Testing Group.
Keysight’s 5G network emulation solutions, specifically the Keysight UXM 5G Wireless Testing Platform, enable device manufacturers to validate 5G NR multimode designs across protocols, RF, and radio resource management (RRM) in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes. This means that Keysight's end-to-end 5G solutions provide the flexibility needed to quickly validate multimode designs in almost any form factor, accelerating their ability to meet global requirements in the sub-6 GHz (FR1) and mmWave (FR2) spectral bands.
