“2020 has been a challenging year. Companies have faced enormous pressure to keep going, even during the worst moments of the pandemic. We have too. Our professionals haven't stopped working for a minute to ensure the best solutions and services for our customers. And our channel has been key in this regard,” stated José Alfonso Gil, country manager of Vertiv Iberia. “We have remained strong, with solid financial results, and with our IPO in New York last February.”
He highlighted an increase in investment in colocation and edge computing, and emphasized the importance of Spain's positioning as a hub for Southern Europe.

Impact of Covid-19 on the Data Center Market:
Overnight, we've seen organizations transition their entire workforce to remote work, resulting in a significant increase in demand for cloud services. Similarly, lockdowns have led to greater consumption of streaming entertainment platforms and online games, and a surge in the use of video calls and videoconferences with family, friends, and colleagues.

Conversely, the pandemic's impact on corporate revenues has led to reduced spending on IT equipment. Data center operations staff have also been affected by lockdowns and remote work. Furthermore, uncertainty and supply chain congestion have lengthened decision-making cycles.

Channel News in 2020
At Vertiv, we have continued working as normally as possible these past months to help businesses through the most challenging times, overcoming obstacles and moving forward every day. During this time, Vertiv has developed many new initiatives, which we summarize below:
• As part of Vertiv's strong commitment to the channel, Miguel del Moral joined the team to lead the channel team and continue growing this strategic business for the company.
• Similarly, Vertiv announced a distribution agreement with Tech Data for Spain and Portugal. This agreement demonstrates Vertiv's ongoing commitment to the channel, combining Tech Data's experience as a distributor with Vertiv's innovative solutions.
• The launch of the Vertiv Partner Program (VPP) a year ago was a success. This year, Vertiv has announced key additions such as the new Partner Relationship Management (PRM) system and the enhanced portal, which will allow partners to immediately take advantage of customized training courses fully tailored to their requirements, new sales and marketing tools, online training courses and certifications, as well as product selectors and configurators.
In addition, Vertiv has also introduced an enhanced range of products ready for Edge Computing, such as rack power distribution units (rPDUs) with combined outlets, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) including the new single-phase Vertiv EDGE, rack cooling systems like the Vertiv VRC, and console servers for remote management.

“The channel plays a key role today, and we believe it will continue to be very important in the future. That's why we will continue to be committed to our channel partners, although this has always been a priority for Vertiv,” stated Miguel del Moral, Channel Business Director of Vertiv Iberia. “In recent months, we have reinforced our commitment to the channel and have continued working tirelessly to guarantee our global supply chain and ensure that our wholesalers have sufficient stock.”

Vertiv has now reached nearly 800 partners following the launch of the VIP incentive program and has improved with a more efficient ranking platform for partners with Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond levels.
