By partnering with providers and creating a coherent and standardized architecture, companies can regain control of these critical assets and increase the ability to rapidly introduce site-specific services, while reducing risks and operating costs and improving service levels.

“As our lives become more digital, the need to reduce latency and support instant computing intensifies, and edge computing is critical,” said Martin Olsen, vice president of strategy and transformation for integrated rack solutions at Vertiv. “With our micro data center solutions, Vertiv delivers efficient, reliable, and rapidly deployable IT infrastructure solutions that help organizations across all industries bring computing closer to the people and devices that use it.”.

Vertiv predicted increased demand for micro data centers and other integrated solutions in its latest 2022 trend list, driven by the need for lower latency and faster, seamless deployments to keep pace with global demand. Furthermore, in its What's Your Edge survey, Vertiv found significant evidence pointing to increased adoption of micro data centers and other integrated solutions. According to the survey, 40% of respondents said they were using or planned to use integrated rack solutions or micro data centers.

"Now more than ever, Edge Computing applications are being deployed in unconventional locations, such as manufacturing plants and retail warehouses, where organizations rely on micro data centers to deliver the necessary flexibility, security, and reliability with a smaller footprint." Olsen added.
