The comprehensive, week-long trial involved test users and covered single- and dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 services, billing systems, and IT back-end infrastructure systems to demonstrate that China Telecom's 4G LTE network is IPv6-ready. China Telecom's 4G LTE network in Hunan Province deploys ZTE's leading solutions, including the evolved Node B, evolved systems architecture gateway, mobility management entity, local subscriber service/third-generation partnership project, authentication, authorization and control, high-speed data packet service gateway (HRPD), graphics, and an electronic sorting process (eHRPD) framework.

As China Telecom rolls out 4G LTE services nationwide, IPv6 will help the operator manage the surge in demand for new IP addresses. Being IPv6 ready is a key part of China Telecom's plans for the wider deployment of 4G LTE networks.
