Fibernet BuildingEsther Gómez, CEO of FiberNet, explains that “the company is focused on four Latin American countries: Peru, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia.” However, it is in Peru where the company has made the most progress, having already installed its solutions in 25% of the country's major banks. Gómez explains that “FiberNet is already working with two of Peru's leading banks, as well as with insurance companies, publishers, and the public sector.” She adds that “since Spanish banks have been pioneers in data centers, they are serving as an example for the Latin American financial sector, and our presence in Spanish banking is allowing us to successfully enter the region's banking market.” FiberNet will soon open an office in Peru to provide direct service to these clients. In the other three Latin American countries, FiberNet is participating in projects in partnership with Teldat (FiberNet's parent company) and local partners within the group, with Mexico being the company's second priority.

FiberNet's goal is for its Latin American business to represent 15% of total revenue this year. Gómez explains that "the certification of our IBM DUSAC 4800 solutions for GDPS business continuity environments is serving as a calling card in this market, providing a guarantee for our clients. We therefore consider obtaining IBM certification a strategic investment with a clear return.".
