In recent weeks, operators have been required to cancel services such as videoconferencing, videotelephony, and multi-videoconferencing; voice messaging, electronic messaging, and unified messaging; and on-demand fax services, provided they are interpersonal services independent of phone numbers and do not involve the provision of another electronic communications service based primarily on signal transmission. In such cases, they are no longer required to register with the Operators Registry, although they must still be reported for statistical and census purposes.
