When an EMT is dispatched, its personnel can find GPS coordinates and the fastest route, based on live traffic flow, pre-loaded with a VTC-enabled ambulance. They receive incident updates en route and arrive on scene within minutes if it's a life-threatening incident. EMTs can use LTE, TETRA, or satellite channels to communicate a patient's status to a service center, which can then notify hospitals of the patient's condition and estimated time of arrival to transfer to the next patient, allowing the EMT to quickly return to service.
Currently, nearly 1,000 ambulances equipped with ALTECH's VTC-based mobile solutions are operating as part of Catalonia EMS, Sistema d'Emergencies Mediques (SEM), while several hundred VTC-equipped ambulances are deployed with Madrid EMS, Servicio de Urgencia Médica en la Comunidad de Madrid (SUMMA 112). Another 50 units of the mobile, ride-hailing-based solution are installed in airport trucks and tracking vehicles to provide emergency relief and rescue missions for Aena. There are over 300 service centers across 17 autonomous communities in Spain, dedicated to protecting the health of the Spanish people.
