The company enjoys an excellent reputation in the United States, offering value-added connector and cable assembly services from its New Jersey headquarters. However, in Europe, the company had focused exclusively on the agricultural market from a small facility in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
In mid-2019, Gary Evans, a seasoned connector professional who had previously held management positions at Harwin, Deutsch, and ITT, was appointed to redefine Powell's European business. As a result, significant European distribution agreements were signed with Glenair, Harwin, Amphenol Aerospace, Quell, AB Connectors, Lemo, Conesys, and others. This enables Powell to serve a wide range of demanding connector applications with products ranging from miniature PCB-mount devices to high-voltage, high-power solutions.

Evans is also building a strong and experienced team to support European customers. Andy Brayford brings 25 years of experience and extensive technical knowledge of electromechanical components to the new role of European Applications Manager. A multilingual, fluent sales team has also been added.
In September 2020, Powell Electronics moved to new facilities in Dublin, Ireland. This will allow the company to maintain a large inventory of connectors and develop significant value-added assembly services.

Evans explains: "Powell Electronics is an authorized distributor, QPL'ed for more than 50 military specifications with ISO9120 certification. We are building a base here in Ireland that will eventually match our capabilities in the United States, but with a service focused on European customers.".
