“Presenting valid solutions used in real projects to our clients allows us not only to demonstrate the added value we bring, but also to create a creative environment for everyone to work together on new solutions that help the client in their processes and daily activities,” commented José Ignacio Anguas, Director of Services at ABB in Spain.
In the industrial segment, the new center will showcase ABB Ability services that complement ABB's technologies for the automation of hydrocarbon distribution terminals. These technologies are currently installed in more than 45 distribution terminals in Spain, enabling oil and gas industry customers to fully control the daily movement of up to 4,500 trucks or 125 million liters of hydrocarbon products. This enhanced control improves the safety of the entire process, from identifying and granting access to truck drivers at the distribution terminals to precisely filling trucks with the product mix demanded by each end customer. This allows for greater flexibility in serving our customers' markets. The entire process will be supported from the new center through remote monitoring agreements that will allow our experts to collaborate closely with our customers on tasks such as monitoring and continuously improving the performance of the automation system, analyzing data for predictive maintenance of assets, and overseeing alarm management to enhance process reliability.
Also in the industrial segment, this time for the food and beverage sector, ABB will showcase the added value of its ABB Ability™ services through remote technical support for Neptune, ABB's irrigation automation system. Thanks to this technology, ABB has automated crop irrigation in southern and western Spain, covering an area equivalent to more than 30,000 football fields. This automation technology allows farmers to easily manage their crop irrigation remotely (via computer, tablet, or even smartphone), controlling the precise amount of water needed and saving time and energy by eliminating manual irrigation. ABB experts will collaborate with farmers from the new service center, providing remote technical support and improving crop productivity. To do this, they will analyze data from the Neptune system and propose real-time adjustments to take advantage of factors such as weather conditions.
For utility companies, the new center will demonstrate how ABB can analyze data from solar plants remotely monitored by ABB experts, plan predictive or reactive maintenance services on-site to extend the lifespan of assets, and maintain high performance at these plants. It will also showcase how ABB can remotely monitor various parameters in power transformers to prevent unexpected outages and plan maintenance tasks more effectively, thereby improving the reliability of the electrical grid.
Regarding buildings and infrastructure, customers visiting the new center will see how we can extract data from our energy efficiency monitoring solutions to identify areas for improvement to save energy.
“The ABB Advanced Services Center will prove to customers that digitalization is not a thing of the future, but of the present. Our goal is to help them drive progress in this new era,” said Juan Bachiller, General Manager of Sales at ABB in Spain.
