This is an imperative requirement to accommodate the radical increase and cross-border proliferation of SRD and ultra-wideband (UWB), which offers extremely high data throughput for communications, location, and high-resolution imaging devices. Recent studies may offer further opportunities for global or regional harmonization that supports and encourages long-term spectrum tenure to deploy the latest technologies and foster greater business sustainability.

This workshop will be held on June 3rd from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

.
The purpose is to identify parts of the spectrum that can be harmonized globally or regionally to facilitate the adoption of SRD applications and related technologies, including UWB. The workshop will also identify activities leading to the inclusion of potential additional frequencies for SRDs in ITU-R Recommendation SM.1896 on global and regional harmonization of SRDs.
ITU-R Resolution 54-1 on studies to achieve SRD harmonization invites ITU-R Members, regional administrations and organizations, as well as scientific, industrial, and standards organizations, to actively participate in these studies to adopt the necessary measures regarding national regulations for SRDs.
