Brocade launches new high-performance cards with high port density
Brocade has achieved this milestone in performance and density with the new Blade 8x10G-M Series for Carrier Ethernet networks and the Blade 8x10G-D Series for data centers. These new line cards double the previous port density with 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) wire-speed switching capability for the NetIron MLX, up to 256 ports in a single chassis. Brocade has also launched the 64-port, 8 Gbps blade for the DCX: the Brocade FC8-64 Blade, a card with a density of up to 512 ports per chassis.
Wire-speed routing capability for service providers and data centers.
Line-speed performance is becoming increasingly essential as rising data traffic drives demand for greater capacity from Ethernet carriers and data center networks. Designed for service providers, the new Brocade 8x10G-M Series blade for the NetIron MLX offers double the throughput and capacity and provides full IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, and VPLS functionality. Ideal for
large data centers and high-performance environments, the new Brocade 8x10G-D Series blade for the NetIron MLX also offers up to 256 ports of 10GbE wire-speed routing and switching performance and supports IPv4/IPv6 functionality. The new blades also deliver up to 45% energy savings compared to current solutions.
New scale in SAN capacity.
The new Brocade FC8-64 blade represents an upgrade to Brocade's flagship DCX Backbone. The FC8-64 blade is the highest-performing and highest-density 8 Gbps Fibre Channel blade on the market. It increases port density by 33%, reaching up to 512 ports per chassis. This increase in capacity and performance will allow customers to design next-generation SANs and meet the demands of server virtualization.
