The latest integration of Eaton's Intelligent Power Manager software with VMware enables a unified user experience across the VMware vRealize Operations platform. This allows users to visualize and manage power and equipment, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and power distribution units (PDUs), reducing time and saving money by providing end users with comprehensive analytics for power capacity planning and workload allocation. When connected to the VMware vRealize Operations platform, data center managers can also leverage its predictive analytics and intelligent alerts to assess the need for preventative maintenance or repair services on their electrical and environmental equipment.
In addition, Eaton's Intelligent Power Manager software offers end users a fully customized infrastructure shutdown capability. This feature allows customers to save time and money while reducing risk. It enables them to seamlessly shut down an entire IT environment without crashing a single virtual machine or host server, even in data centers using VMware's High Availability (HA) host servers.
With version 1.52 of Eaton's Intelligent Power Manager software, customers now have greater control over the PDUs that support their IT infrastructure. Users can turn PDU outlets on and off with the Intelligent Power Manager software, providing greater peace of mind. The latest platform also offers more granular control over actions and alarms in the event of electrical or environmental issues, providing more detailed information about the source of the alarm, enabling customers to respond more accurately and quickly.
