The PX-2000 rack iPDU with switched output measures energy usage at the PDU level and provides output-level switching to remotely power equipment on and off. PX-2000 models are available for 120V, 208V, 208V three-phase, 400V three-phase, 16A and below, 20A, and 30A.

“The PX-2000 is a smart choice for companies that want accurate and continuous power monitoring to get to the bottom of energy issues, identify ways to reduce energy costs, orchestrate effective rack cooling, and optimize capacity, and that want advanced remote power on/off and power sequencing capabilities,” said Herman Chan, Director of Energy Management at Raritan. “The PX-2000 is ideal for companies that want to take steps toward implementing smart racks and are interested in evaluating how efficient their data centers are using industry standards such as PUE.”.

The PX-2000, and other Raritan smart rack PDUs, gather comprehensive and accurate power data, including voltage, current (A), power factor, apparent power (kVA), active power (kW), ambient temperature and relative humidity, pressure and airflow, and energy consumption in kWh. To make it easier for data center operators to monitor power activity, real-time information can be viewed on the IPDU's LED display in the rack and remotely via a web-based user interface. User-configurable environmental thresholds and critical/non-critical power levels can be set, and alerts sent to data center administrators can enable them to take corrective action.

PX offers the industry's most accurate measurement — with ISO/IEC +/- 1% billing accuracy — in the important kWh value, which is the indicator that shows current energy consumption, while other solutions only measure current (A) or determine kWh through calculations and assumptions, rather than real-time measurement.

All PX models are fully compatible with Raritan Power IQ® energy management software, which provides additional control and management capabilities to identify the most energy-intensive devices, assess the effectiveness of energy conservation efforts, and detect hotspots or overcooled areas. Enterprise-wide data collected by Raritan smart PDUs, third-party rack PDUs, and online meters enables Power IQ analytics to calculate and graphically display active power, energy consumption, cost, and carbon footprint for servers and other devices. Optional environmental sensors are also available; these are automatically detected and displayed as soon as they are connected to a PX-2000 model. Raritan sensors track temperature and humidity within the rack to help eliminate overcooling and overheating areas.
