As part of Arista's cognitive management plane, CloudVision is a common management plane for all scenarios, including data centers, wired and wireless campuses, and public cloud, which, by breaking down traditional network management silos, simplifies network operations.

Arista's CloudVision platform is designed to leverage best practices in software-driven operations from large cloud operators, while its delivery as a turnkey product facilitates the path to network automation.

All elements of the network—physical, virtual, cloud, and containerized—transmit real-time telemetry data to CloudVision's vast data repository, which then creates a historical digital replica, allowing administrators to view the network's status at any point at any time. CloudVision's analytics engines then sift through these datasets, providing insights that transform day-to-day operational tasks from reactive to proactive.

CloudVision can orchestrate operations from a single, coherent, and elastic pool of physical and virtual network resources. This functionality standardizes the operating model for network troubleshooting, scalability, and elastic growth and contraction across the enterprise, giving the network the agility needed to adapt to evolving business needs.

CloudVision has brought a wealth of advanced features, such as centralized provisioning, end-to-end historical visibility, whole-network topology view, compliance reporting, and event-driven notifications across Arista customers' fixed and mobile networks. CloudVision 2019 builds upon these capabilities to offer a host of exciting platform enhancements, including:
● Hitless change controls, including customizable workflows for orchestrating task scheduling, modal awareness, and live change control monitoring
● Data plane visibility, including the ability to consume flow data from sFlow and IPFIX
● Device analyzer, providing device inventory and behavioral analysis for all connected devices and helping to proactively identify security threat vectors
● New topology overlay views, including network events and segmentation mappings
● Network-wide historical search to track key elements
● Customizable rules engine for creating customer-specific network compliance rules and associated events

open third-party support
leverages the robust API suite offered by Arista EOS®. These transactional APIs provide comprehensive and reliable communication with managed devices, ultimately improving management operations.
They also deliver enhanced device visibility, including native OpenConfig support. This functionality provides network visibility to third-party devices that support OpenConfig within CloudVision. Furthermore, a new SDK for devices enables visibility into legacy platforms that do not support OpenConfig. Using this SDK, CloudVision can extract visibility metrics from SNMP-compatible platforms, including routers, switches, firewalls, and more, and deliver them to CloudVision applications. This functionality provides a broader and more complete view of network components.

Building upon existing CloudVision Ansible certified modules and upcoming certified Ansible Collections, Ansible Playbooks are available for use in a variety of DevOps integration scenarios. CloudVision provides state control of Arista while leveraging the broader Ansible framework for multi-vendor configuration and image management.
