The KN4140 Over the Net™ KVM switch stands out for its temperature-sensing cooling system, enabling secure network operation regardless of distance or network size. The KN4140v is a Cat 5 KVM switch with over-IP functionality, supporting up to five simultaneous bus sessions. Through a local console login and four additional logins via LAN, WAN, or the internet, administrators can simultaneously access different ports in decentralized networks. This allows them to remotely monitor and control up to 40 management-level servers (including blade servers) or 640 devices in a two-level cascaded installation. Furthermore, it allows the creation of up to 64 user accounts, 32 of which can be connected simultaneously, and offers a chat communication channel between users via the ATEN Message Board.

The KN4140v Over the Net KVM switch enables centralized network management, meeting the demands of cloud computing. Its most innovative feature is the inclusion of four room temperature sensors. Based on the sensor readings, the switch automatically adjusts the speed of its six integrated fans to optimally cool the device, thereby reducing energy consumption and operating costs, in compliance with the new IEEE 802.3az standard. The KN4140v comes with a redundant power supply and network interface, ensuring the switch remains available even during a main power outage. Furthermore, the KN4140v's out-of-band management tool allows administrators to control servers even during a complete network failure, eliminating the need for on-site support. For efficient remote management, the switch also provides virtual media support. Thanks to this, users can assign storage media to any local or remote server, send data to any server on the network, install operating system or application patches, or perform diagnostic tests.

As a complement to this KVM switch, ATEN offers its CC2000 management software, now in a new version with numerous new features, such as support for Blade Server, VMware, and IPv6, as well as the use of port groups to reduce licensing costs. CC2000 Over the NET™ allows you to control, configure, and manage complex network environments—including all of ATEN's IP-based IT equipment, virtual machines, and common blade servers—using a single IP address. With this software, hundreds of thousands of devices can be managed simultaneously with one main server and 31 aggregate servers, resulting in significant cost savings.
